Abstract

PATIENCE is a fixed-supply ERC-20 whose market mechanism lives in its canonical Uniswap v4 pool. The pool records directional price pressure. Repeated movement in the same direction raises the next aligned LP fee, while elapsed blocks reduce that pressure exponentially. Collected native ETH fees fund reward epochs weighted by balance and continuous holding age. PATIENCE-denominated fees are burned. The token contract itself does not tax or restrict ordinary transfers.

1. Market mechanism

Impatient trading creates the pressure. A run of buys builds buy pressure, so the next buyer pays a higher fee. A run of sells builds sell pressure, so the next seller pays a higher fee. Waiting lets either pressure decay. A trade against the move pays the base fee and pushes the pool back toward balance.

The pool stores one signed pressure value. A PATIENCE buy moves pressure in the positive direction; a sell moves it in the negative direction. Before a swap, the hook decays the stored value to the current block and compares its sign with the proposed trade.

A trade aligned with the stored pressure pays a premium because it extends the prevailing move. A counter-trade pays the 1% base LP fee. Once that counter-trade completes, its tick movement reduces the imbalance. Neither side is blocked.

2. Waiting and fee formation

Pressure halves every 6,000 blocks. At the observed Robinhood Chain cadence, one half-life is about ten minutes. No keeper is needed for decay. The hook computes the current value from the block difference when a reader or trader asks for it.

Only aligned pressure A enters the fee curve. S is the 100e18 pressure scale. At A = S, the aligned LP fee is 2%. The fee approaches but never exceeds 3%.

3. Holding age

The token records balance and age debt at transfer checkpoints. This lets the contract recover balance multiplied by continuous holding age without tracking the age of every token. Tokens received in a transfer begin at age zero. If a holder sends only part of a balance, the tokens retained keep their proportional age.

4. Reward epochs and claims

Native ETH fees accumulate in a pending reward pot. Once the next epoch block is ready, finalization snapshots the previous completed block. The epoch stores its native reward and the total eligible Patience Score at that snapshot.

Claims advance through epochs in order, up to 64 per transaction. Anyone may submit a claim for a holder, but the contract always pays that holder directly. The caller cannot redirect the ETH, and an epoch cannot pay the same holder twice.

The website sponsors claims once the available amount reaches 0.00001 ETH. Smaller balances stay in the contract and continue to accumulate. The on-page countdown estimates the next distribution from nextEpochReadyBlock(); the block value, not the clock, decides when finalization is valid.

5. Fee routing and fixed properties

The permanent liquidity locker collects LP fees without reducing liquidity. Native ETH fees enter the reward contract. PATIENCE-denominated fees are burned. Position principal never enters either route.

Supply is fixed at deployment. The token has no later mint path.
The canonical liquidity position has no withdrawal or transfer path.
Reward exclusions are immutable after deployment.
Ordinary transfers remain unrestricted and untaxed.
